1969 Cougar 351 W 2V FMX 9"

BODY

This Lime Gold 69 Hardtop is very solid and very original.

I have owned it some 18 years driving a mere 20,000 miles in that time.

1/4s were replaced some 15 years ago and some signs of that are showing now.

ENGINE

The engine is original and as far as I know the valve covers have never been off this 120,000 mile un-rebuilt engine.

Several years ago the Oil lite began to flash at stop lights so I replaced the Oil Pump and the Bearings on Crankshaft both cons and mains. At same time I replaced the rear main seal that was not leaking.

I replaced the original rope seal with the newer neoprene seal.

Also replaced is the timing chain set with a TRUE ROLLER set-up.

New single exhaust.

Carb with auto choke works perfectly.

Alt starter water and fuel pumps rebuilt or replaced as required to original.

Runs clean and strong.

INTERIOR

Carpet is original and showing signs of wear on drivers side.

NOS Green Floor Mats (not shown) cover any original carpet flaws.

Headliner has been replaced.

Drivers seat base was recovered but not in the exact colour which I believe is available now.

Drivers seat back has a split in the fabric now.

 Rest seats all fine.

Interior is the standard Ivy Green.

GENERAL

This Cougar was built same week as the two Boss9 Cougars were built.

This car would make a dandy candidate for either the Schartmann or the Nicholson replicar sharing same date codes and being a very solid original.

Sports AM radio bumperettes and engine block heater from factory though the heater in block frost plug has been replaced.

Chrome and trim is good. Back bumper has a small tweak.

Sail panels getting a  bit tattered.

New rear glass seal.

Good door and window felts replaced as required.

A few bubbles showing in the 15 year old body and paint work.

Straight w/ solid floor and T boxes.

 Been a very dependable car.

I used this one as a guide whilst re-building several other Cougars and Mustangs.

Important need to know things like "What screws were used on the radio bracket" were easily answered with this car that's still very original factory wise.

Original front end probably needs some attention.

Steers and brakes fine but has a squeak which usually is indicitive of upper inner shaft work.

Has new tyres 205 x14s on 1968 Cougar 14 x6 styled steel wheels.

Pics currently show GT 12 slots, this car now has the 68 Cougar five slots in chrome w/rings.

TRUNK

Has all new liners and taillite protectors as well as filler boards.
