1969 Burnt Orange xr7 390 Hardtop

        1969 Cougar xr7 390 4 Barrel C6 automatic

        Rebuilt engine, trans and accessories.

Odometer shows 64,000 trans rebuilt less than 10,000 miles ago

        AM 8 track

        Power Steering

        Power Disk Brakes

        White leather interior

        31 spline 9” 2.75

        “GT” wheels.

        Console.

        Floor mats (white).

This car is fast and uses no oil between oil changes however there is some seepage from the intake corners now.

30W is the best oil for ambient temps above 32F and what I use in all my equipment ensuring superior protection. Oil changed every 3000 miles.

Gets rather good mileage for an old school 390 as it has 2.78 rear 9" 31 spline.

I drove this car as my daily driver for several years back in the early 21st Century.

Car is very quiet and runs very well.

        I'm driving it now.

STRUCTURE

Floor and frame rails are fine - been repaired as required however one frame rail is weak from previous accident decades ago and should be replaced. A replacement front clip comes with.

Torque boxes have been repaired but are getting old.

Replace these when doing a frame rail front clip.

Quality Patch panels were used on the rear 1/4 area behind wheels.

Trunk drop offs repaired as required.

Passenger side 1/4 was not great when I did this car over ten years ago

Existing 1/4 is fine but has a bit more welding and fill than I normally find acceptable.

        Decent 1/4 included.

ADDITIONS and REPAIRS

Not seen in pics is the new vinyl top I put on in early 2008. You can see the old top has marks on roof.

I have added the rare Power Ventilation (looks like AC but is PV).

PV directs air thru dash registers as well as has a water shut off valve for more dramatic cold and hot.

I have added the pulse wiper system (factory parts).

There is a chrome air cleaner lid that's okay but flaking. (not shown)

The GT CJ Boss snorkel is missing as is the heat tube for it.

Holley Carb hot air choke as factory works great!

Starter Alt and Distributor have all been gone thru and brought up to spec as original.

Brakes and cylinders all replaced within last ten years.

        Ford ten year battery.

        New Tinted Windshield.

        New Headliner.

        New Rear Glass seal.

New Vinyl Top since pics taken.

        Top and glass trims polished.

        Replacement Speedo cable.

        New Calipers.

        New Tie Rod end.

New upper balls and inner shafts.

New door seals window fuzzies and rear glass seal.

New carpet trunk liner taillight protectors etc.

        New Radiator.?

        Re-chromed rear bumper.

Re-chromed grill center and RH section.

        Re-chromed Back up light assemblies

        72 XR7 hi-back bucket seats.

Restored Steering Wheel and new rim blow horn switch.

        New quiet dual exhaust

        Restored XR7 crests

This is a great car as is, will give plenty of years of enjoyment and service.

It is also an excellent candidate for restoration.

The colour scheme is great and its a big block disc braked power steering car in pretty good condition as is.

Complete (sans snorkel) as factory with radial tyres and Holley Carb added.

This Cougar XR7 was originally sold in Nanaimo BC making it an Island Cat.

Marti Report available.

A new top has been installed, marks on old top seen below. Rear window trim was polished to as new condition when top was done.

Old top shown here, has brand new top with window trim and rain gutter trim, restored and polished to as new

There is no body damage, the ten year old bodywork is holding up well.
